As-salam.
Setakat ini belumlah lagi Mak Aji mendapat nama sebenar bunga "Nasir", bunga yang dinamakan begitu sempena Nasir, kawan Mak Aji yang meninggalkan pokok bunga itu apabila Mak Aji masuk ke rumah institusi (semasa bekerja di JB beberapa tahun lepas). Kalaulah ada sesiapa yang tahu namanya, sudah cukup baiklah tu! Apapun bunga ini kembang lagi sekuntum semalam. Satu lagi kudup insya-Allah akan kembang sehari dua lagi.

ReplyDeleteActually it's faint yellow not really white. Unfortunately it does not smell!

ReplyDeleteUmmu Madihah, I wanted to ask you: do you grow Thai basil in Malaysia? (Ocimum tenuiflorum). I've just bought the seeds of this basil, it's called Thai basil, it has purple flowers and narrow leaves, it's written on the package that it naturally grows in Malaysia and on Indian subcontinent. It's also written that it's very strong in taste. I'm very curious about it, I thought that maybe you have some information on this basil? Thanks in advance :)

DeleteI don't have thai basil at home but many here grow them. Our local name for thai basil is selasih. It is used in cooking for it's fragrance. It is also used for medicinal purposes. As far as I know it is used rather like rosemary and thyme. Hope that much info helps.

Deletesayang, tak berbau. Mak Aji pernah tengok kat rumah org, pokok ni berbunga byk kelopak sekaligus, tp Mak Aji punya setakat ni paling byk dua je.
